Compensation and Benefits (CAB)
The compensation module helps you generate the payroll with a button click. Modulus is very flexible when it comes to payroll calculation.
Modulus enables you to define:
- Salary Items
- Pay Code
- Pay Rules
- Payment Methods
- Payment Parties
- Company Policy
- Attendance Policy
- Tardiness Policy
1. Salary Items
Salary structure is composed of a set of salary items. Employee salary sums up from the defined values of each salary item.
A salary item can be defined to be:
- Basic: Part of the employee basic salary.
- Taxable: Taxes are applied on this item during payroll calculation.
- Unpaid: This salary item is not going to be paid to the employee; it will be only used in the payroll calculation.
2. Pay Codes
Pay Codes are simply the columns you see in your salary sheet. Modulus is preconfigured with the most common pay codes. Yet you can configure your own pay codes and enter the necessary pay rules to process payroll and reflect to those pay codes.
3. Pay Rules
Pay Rules allow you to define dynamic rules to process salary calculation for employees. You have the right to control the order in which the rules run.
Modulus allows you to define the pay rules using a smart calculator by which you can define the rule name, pay code which the rule will be applied to, credit and debit parties, and the rule will be taxable or not and its application (daily or per payroll cycle).
4. Salary Slip
Employees can view their salary slip from self services module without the need to contact the human resources department. The salary slip is self explanatory.
5. Loans
Modulus allows you to offer your employees the ability to take loans according to some criteria; such as join date, gross salary, number of concurrent loans, etc.
The system automatically tracks employee installments and postpones. Installments are deducted from employee salary on corresponding payroll cycles.
6. Policies
Modulus enables you to define and apply your bylaw. You can define list of violations that implies sanctions as well as list of distinctions that implies bonus in a smart and easy way.
Direct Head can apply policies directly, while employee and HR get notified. Yet, HR Supervisor has the privileges to cancel the action.
Modulus automatically detects the recurrence of the policy and applies the adequate penalty/bonus on the employee.
7. Settlements
This is a back door that helps you to add a custom addition or a deduction to payroll. In case you want to adjust an employee’s salary for definite cause. For example, you want to deduct an amount of money from the employee due to damaging company property (you’ll need to settle that from his salary). This can be applied in individual fashion, or in bulk by importing a settlement sheet.
8. Salary Sheet
You can view the salary sheet of a calculated cycle. The system enables you to export the sheet, to view detailed transactions of the calculated cycle. And once the calculation is approved, employees can check their salary slip from the self services module.
