A payroll cycle is a monthly process in which the salaries are calculated based on calculating all the action that took place on the application through out the whole month. The salary sheet is created and salary slips are generated; every employee sees his own salary slip as a result to this process.
Page Display
- From – To: The date on which the payroll cycle should take place.
- Status: Whether the payroll cycle was pending, calculated or approved.
- Last Updated By: The user who took action.
Buttons
To edit payroll cycle before calculation.
To delete payroll cycle.
To view logs.
The menu that drops down from this button depends on the payroll cycle status.
Pending
The cycle didn’t start; the user didn’t start it.
- Available Action: “Calculate”.
Calculated
The HR user choose to start the cycle and it’s waiting for approval.
- Available Actions: “Reset – Approve – Show Salary Sheet – Export to Excel – Transactions”.
Approved
The cycle is completely finished and the employees could view their salary slips.
- Available Actions: Reset – Show Salary Sheet – Export to Excel – Transactions.
The Cycle Process
- The user adds the start and end dates of the cycles to the application.
- Based on the previous step, the application will automatically run the cycle on time.
- The user calculates the cycle.
- Reset the cycle in case you want to make any edits.
- The user gets to choose to calculate the cycle then approve it (if there is no need to edit it).
Hint:
- Once the payroll cycle is calculated, it cannot be edited or deleted and the salary sheet is generated.
- In order to edit, you have to reset the cycle. “Edit” is to change the date on which the cycle will take place.
To Add Payroll Cycle
- Click on “+ Payroll Cycle” button.
- A dialog box will appear.
- Fill in the required data.
